BRINGING THE OLD COLLEGE BACK TO LIFE
The Jersey College for Girls was originally designed by local architect Adolphus Curry in 1887. He has played a key role in shaping Jersey's architectural landscape, having also designed Victoria College, Midland's Bank in Library Place, Victoria Club, amongst others. JDC focused on retaining and complimenting the grand façade, generous ceiling heights and mahogany staircases of this iconic Victorian building, with sensitive landscaping and architecture bringing the dilapidated college back to life. Key features, such as the 1930's Grecian outdoor theatre and the beautifully manicured lawn and gardens, have been restored for future generations.

CONNECTION TO THE NEW JERSEY COLLEGE FOR GIRLS
The students at the new Jersey College for Girls were actively involved in the landscaping, contributing to the design of the Percentage for Art, a magnificent series of interlocking hand carved bas relief panels that depict inspirational former alumnae of the school between 1888 to 1999. JDC also repatriated the oak-panelled library that was left in the old building after the school moved in 1999. The original oak panelling and columns were painstakingly restored and reinstalled at the College’s new location, ensuring its important heritage lives on for future generations.

THE REGENERATION
A total of 187 residential units have been built on the site, including:

All residents at College Gardens enjoy extensive private landscaped gardens, a fully equipped on-site gym and most have their own allocated parking and storerooms.
