Our Story
Jersey Development Company (JDC) is the Government of Jersey's (GoJ) regeneration arm. We are a delivery vehicle for major property regeneration and development for the GoJ with a remit to complete the development of the St Helier Waterfront area and to undertake the regeneration of surplus GoJ owned assets.
JDC creates new homes for local residents and new Grade 'A' office space for the island's premier financial services industry. By investing in direct development, rather than selling land to developers, we ensure that returns to taxpayers are improved as well as retaining control over design and quality.
We balance environmental, social and financial considerations in every regeneration project that we undertake, with a focus on sustainability, placemaking and creating thriving communities. The projects that we undertake are significant with positive long-lasting impacts for Jersey. We are building new places with the appropriate infrastructure and accommodation for future generations.
JDC is run by an independent board rather than political appointees and is accountable to its shareholder, the Minister for Treasury and Resources. The Company was formed in 2011 following a change of name and constitution of the Waterfront Enterprise Board. Placemaking and sustainability is at the heart of our activities, and we are focussed on supporting GoJ's strategic objectives.
